World Poverty

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen:to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him and not hide yourself from your own flesh?” Isaiah 58:6-8

Instead of complaining about who did what to cause the problems in today’s economy, could we instead lead our children in prayer for the millions worldwide who go to bed hungry every night; suffer from disease and lack of clean water; suffer from all the ailments of malnourishment? Lord help us to do that.

Lord, help us to give a cup of cold water in your Name to those who are in need.

We have a page designated to the end that it may be useful to help you to find and maybe pray about what you can do for the needy children (and adults) of this world. Go here to read more.

Boy and Dog Praying1.jpgThis picture was posted by Stacy at the Persecution Blog and I couldn’t resist it. In this time of much needed prayer for our country, as well as for persecuted saints in other countries around the world, you might want to go over to that blog to read some motivating quotes about prayer.
