Another time, I talked about building patriotism in our children, so it would follow that
I'd encourage you to guide them into an appreciation of the governmental construction
and processes of our country. I've run into a few useful sites to that end. I'd suggest
that you check these sites out, bookmark them, and perhaps use them at some point in
social studies in your schooling or for family enrichment activities.
Are you thankful for your system of government and for your right to vote? At the time
of this writing, we are two months away from engaging in one of the most historic
elections ever. I hope we're all committing it to prayer, and that our children will have
a sense that we, their parents, want to follow Biblical principles in the choices we
make in this area of life as well as all others. They may not fully understand all the
particulars, but hopefully, they'll grow in awareness that we're making choices not
just for ourselves, but choices which have consequences for the good of our nation as
a whole. As they grow, they WILL come to understand these things. Let's be careful to
lead them down right paths to prepare them for the time when their turn comes.
If we're to appreciate our government, this is the best way to do it--for ourselves and
for our posterity.

Ben's Guide
Really cute place to go. Really helpful. Kid friendly site if ever there was one. It's especially helpful that it's broken down by age range.

Weekly Reader Series This series, called "Know Your Government" might be something you'd like to look into. I've never seen or read it but wanted you to know it's there just in case it's of any interest to you.
