Speakable Gifts believes in the family and this site is our
contribution to other efforts being made to support and
enhance families in the times in which we live. Our intention is
to provide inspirational and edifying gifts for families to give on
various occasions. Each of our gifts includes a spiritual
message. Additionally, we publish our own publications to this
end, and also offer a few quality publications by others who we
feel have a common goal.
It is our sincere desire that people who visit will find something
in the resources we provide that will strengthen, inspire and
motivate their household, or that of their family and friends, to
a more God honoring walk with the Lord.
Ours is a family organization, owned by Maxine Randall and
Beverly Smith, a mother and daughter from their two separate
households. When Maxine founded this enterprise some years
ago, her daughter Beverly was a teenager and was a great help
to her mom in getting the business going. During the early
years, when Speakable Gifts was a gift basket business, Beverly
often assisted with the design and construction of the baskets
and then when the business evolved into inspirational gifts and
publications, she often helped with various aspects of that also,
especially as she sometimes jokingly referred to herself as
“business manager.” Now, after starting her own home by
getting married and having children of her own, she has
returned in earnest as a partner.
Maxine is a wife, mother and grandmother. Other than
spending time with her family (especially the granddaughters!),
she finds her greatest enjoyment in writing for young people.
She also loves teaching Sunday school, feeding and observing
birds, reading Elizabeth Prentiss and J.C. Ryle, and old movies.
Her desire is that those who visit will find any purchases they
make to be inspiring and motivating to them or others, and that
their children who participate in any of the activities will be
built up in moral and spiritual character. Maxine wishes you all
the blessings of our great God and bountiful mercies in Him

Beverly is a stay at home wife, and mommy of two girls. Her
favorite pastimes are reading, blogging and cooking. She is
founder of the Girl Inside Blog, and in her spare time reviews
children’s books and products. Her hope for Speakable Gifts is
